2018 Information Day (Secondary Section)

 

Our 2018 Information Day will be held on 22 No 2018 (the day of PSLE results release), from 12.00noon to 5.00pm at our Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), located near our school’s main gate on Bishan Street 22. No registration is required, and our staff will be around to answer your queries about CHS.

 

Our major Open House is in May, and this Information Day is an additional avenue for P6 parents and students to seek more information or clarification. Families can also go on a self-guided tour around our school campus.

President’s Award for Teachers (PAT) & Outstanding Youth in Education Award (OYEA)

Nomination for the two national awards is now opened.

President’s Award for Teachers
This award is open to all teacher who are presently serving in a school. Nominees for the award should be teachers who

  • are committed to the character and moral development of students
  • motivate, challenge and inspire students to bring out their full potential
  • are reflective practitioners who demonstrate deep pedagogy
  • lead in and contribute to the professional growth of other teachers
  • are role models for the teaching profession.

The deadline for nomination is 22 Jan 2019.

Outstanding Youth in Education Award
This award honours the achievements of young educators who have a passion and commitment to teaching, inspiring and nurturing their students. It seeks to recognise excellent younger teachers for their youthful idealism, enthusiasm, energy and active involvement in the development of youth beyond the formal curriculum.

This award is open to teachers born on or after 30 Jun 1984. You may submit your nomination at this link.

The deadline for nomination is 08 Jan 2019.

Admission to the CHS Integrated Programme (IP) Year 3 in 2019 is now open for application (by present Sec 2 students from other schools) from 3 Sep to 21 Sep 2018 (4.00pm). 

Students presently studying in CHS will be notified via various internal platforms by the HOD/IP and Year Heads: please look out for these briefings in Term 4 (2018), and do not refer to this web page.

Follow Us on the National Science Challenge 2018!

A team of our Level 3 CΩERGY students are presently competing in the ongoing National Science Challenge 2018 being broadcasted on MediaCorp Chanel 5. After the broadcasted 28 Aug quarterfinal episode, our team is through to the semi-finals!
Follow them through the NSC episodes on 28 Aug and 4 Sep (Ch5, 7.30pm), and possibly more episodes after that. You can catch the broadcasted episodes on Toggle too.

Congratulations to Our PM’s Book Prize Winner

Congratulations to Our Prime Minister’s Book Prize Winner

We heartiest congratulations to our alumni Ong Chong Yu (Integrated Programme, Class of 2017) for being awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Book Prize 2018! Established in 1974, the Prime Minister’s Book Prize is a national award recognising outstanding students for bilingualism. Chong Yu was a Bicultural Studies Programme scholar and President of our Chinese Orchestra during his years in CHS, and he is now a BSP scholar and Student Council Deputy President in Eunoia Junior College. We wish him all the best as he continues his journey as a Bilingual Scholar, Leader and Gentleman!
